Infarm
Partnering with Infarm brings you fresh, produce. Each modular farming unit at select Sobeys stores is a unique ecosystem that creates the ideal environment required for fresh greens and herbs to flourish using 95% less water and free of chemical pesticides.
Alvéole
As a family nurturing families, we’ve partnered with Alvéole in a new honeybee project to nurture a very important pollinating family: bees. Using urban rooftop beehives, we’re bringing honey to your home, while giving one to the bees on top of our select Sobeys stores.
Local Suppliers
We know our customers want to enjoy and support locally sourced food and products - and we do too. That’s why we work with hundreds of suppliers that offer local products, giving our customers a wide range of the highest-quality products available throughout the store. Building Up Local Suppliers Through R-Purpose MICRO
R-Purpose MICRO is an intensive 12-week program designed to help local companies accelerate their growth and build resilience through purpose, sustainability, and circularity. Fostering growth through a zero-waste mindset is R- Purpose Micro’s goal, helping the business leaders of tomorrow drive toward a sustainable future.
Welo
We’re happy to partner with Welo, an innovative Canadian fruit and vegetable drink producer that uses “imperfect” produce to help build wells in support of sustainable agriculture in Kenya. Five cents from the sale of every Welo cold-pressed, nutrient- dense drink, goes toward building wells in Kikima, and diverts imperfect fruits and veg from landfill.
Loop Mission
Montreal-based Loop Mission is on a mission to reduce food waste by taking imperfect or overstocked fruits or vegetables from stores and businesses which have an oversupply and turning them into cold-pressed juices. Sobeys shares the company’s “reduce” philosophy and supports this Canadian business to bring you their delicious beverages.
